After completing a 3 year program in Industrial Design, Steve's career journey began in 1993 when he joined the Design and Engineering department of an international systems furniture manufacturer as an Industrial Designer. With a curious mind and an interest in buildings, Steve also dabbled in basement, kitchen, and bathroom renovations. His knowledge base expanded as he gained important in-field experience on various systems, as well as plumbing and electrical (rewiring) of residential homes.

Steve's work experience and interests of being a "hands on" type led him to enroll in a home inspection program.  After successfully completing his Home Inspection training program, Steve commenced performing home inspections in 2007. During the initial years of his home inspection career, Steve also completed the required training from NRC and performed home energy audits as a Certified Energy Advisor.  This combination of services further enhanced his understanding of a house as a system and the building envelope. 

Steve has successfuly completed all the required courses and practical training required by InterNACHI to perform home inspections as a Certified Professional Inspector. While being a dedicated home inspector, he completed numerous courses and additional complimentary training to excel in his field. Steve's technical training includes numerous home inspection and related courses taken at Infrared Training Center (ITC), Canadian National Radon Training Center (CNRTC), Coastal Drone where he obtained his Advanced Operations Certificate for drones, Medical and Biological Laboratories (MBL), Analytical Technologies, Ontario Association of Home Inspectors (OAHI), International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI), and Master Inspector Certification Board where he obtained his Certified Master Inspector (CMI) designation.

Steve was employed by Mike Holmes Inspections from 2017-2024 as a professional Home Inspector where he progressed up to the role of Lead Inspector and Trainer for new Home Inspectors across Canada.
